Happy Canada Day Canadian mamas! Happy 4th of July American mamas! What do you have going on this week?
Over here at Punky Moms we’re advertising on FaceBook to bring in some new mamas - check out our FaceBook Fan page! If you are on the fan page but not the board, well, what are you waiting for? Make the jump! We’ve got something like 40 or 50 new people on the FB pages, I know you’re out there!
Just a reminder , we’ve got Swap Feedback and a completely revamped swap area. We’re taking a hint from our friends over at Craftster (hey, we give credit where credit is due!) to help our swaps run a little smoother. The Help Desk is back.
Summer is here! Share your BBQ & picnic recipes and photos. Seek out the DITLO board and share your summer fun! Remind your kids to write to their summer penpals and maybe share their summer crafts (and craft ideas). I’ve been scarce and haven’t been contributing, I’m hoping to rememdy that this month!
Just a reminder, we’ve got a new WordPress installation that lets you have your own blog. You know you want one, you know you need one, and now you can have one! We’ve got FaceBook, Twitter and MySpace! We’ve got new swap boards like Swap Swamp Theme, The Swap Swamp Speaks, Swap Angels, & Ancient Swap History.
One more bit of up top news - this is the last month for the newsletter. Starting in August we’ll be publishing throughout the month to the blog. Our contests will still run in the first week of the month, but everything else will be spaced out a little more. Think of them as weekly mini-news instead of one huge monthly letter.I am always running late with this thing anyway,so it just makes more sense to have a constant flow of news instead of a constantly late newsletter.

We are bringing back the Plaudit Fairy and introducing her sister, the Award Fairy!
What exactly is the Plaudit Fairy? It’s essentially an award system for PunkyMoms-Fucking-Topia where members will be rewarded for good deeds toward the community! It’s a job, much like the Tooth Fairy. The Tooth Fairy has her job to show appreciation towards those that take care of their teeth and the Plaudit Fairy has her job to show appreciation to those who care about PunkyMoms. One big difference between the Tooth Fairy and the Plaudit Fairy is that the Tooth Fairy won’t punch you in the face and take your teeth if you don’t brush your teeth, the plaudit Fairy might show her annoyance by taking your plaudits, punching in the face is totally optional!
When a member has done something exceptional that you feel deserves rewarding then simply post to the Help Desk to send a note to the Plaudit Fairy (here’s how) saying what has been done and why you feel this member should be rewarded. Providing links is greatly appreciated. Reasons to reward someone are, but not limited to, birthdays, pregnancy, popping kiddos out, good deeds, contributing to PunkyMoms in a positive and kick ass way, great stories, general picker upper for those who are down and accomplishments. There are no limits on the amount of suggestions you can submit however NOT all suggestions will be fulfilled.
Do no submit requests like “Please give SoandSo a million Plaudits/an award because I said so.” Or “I want SoandSo to have plaudits/an award because her feet are neat.” Genuine reasons are applicable only and not just cause you want to feed your friend’s gambling addiction! All submissions will be anonymous unless stated otherwise!
The Plaudit Fairy can and will reserve the right to take your Plaudits (and sometimes your sanity) if she feels that you are abusing the system.
Also, the Plaudit Fairy herself will be on the lookout for random acts of awesomeness and will reward them as seen.
