Are you getting the most of your controls?
I bet you don't know how many aspects of the board you can control from the "My Controls" link. I know I didn't realize it! I can't make you do it, but you really should take a peek at all the things you can do from the Controls page, it's amazing!

Immature Couture is hosting our contest this month too! Look for their fabulous wares in our store! Keep reading to find out how to enter!

| Punky Society |
With everything that went on this week and last, we didn't have time to put together a Punky Society :( Look for a dual-month update next month!

| Editor's Note |
|
Hey you! Welcome to April! OMG it was a hassle getting to April! We're all sorted out, and we hit the ground running. Coming in April, just in fucking time for Earth Day no less, are our EcoBags! The bag itself is natural heavy canvas and comes with a full size bar of awildsoapbar.com soap, lots of little samples from earth friendly companies and a cute little pamphlet giving you all sorts of power saving, resource saving and recycling ideas. We'll also be offering a bundle of the ecobag and a PunkyMoms shirt.
What else? I've planted flowers (ok, ok, I've sprinkled a shitton of seeds and am hoping some of them sprout), we're watching an orange tree grow (Malachai planted a seed a few months ago, and it's growing!) and I'm watching my kids grow like weeds. Summer is quickly approaching and things like camp and activities are taking over my brain.
This issue was supposed to be the zine, which is still in the works, but Sarah, our editor-in-charge of the zine, has had a bit of an upheaval in her life. She is still gathering goodies for the zine and it will come out, this year even!
Much love,
Jenn, Sarah & Winter
PS: Sign up for the emergency contact list! This strictly opt-in list is hosted privately. It is for Punky Moms (http://punkymoms.com) members who want to know what is going on if the board goes down, if we shut down for maintenance, upgrades, etc..
I will not use, sell, loan, barter, or otherwise violate your privacy and email address if you sign up for this list. |

| New Stuff! |
|
Ticket System It's like tech support on speed. Really.
But Jenn, how do I use it and why is it different than using the Community Help area? Easy! Click the New Topic button, just like you are going to post a post. Select your ticket department (as of the writing, there is only Board Tech Support) and select your visibility (public or private). Public means everyone, including guests, can see your ticket. Private means only you, the admins and global mods can see your post. The click "add ticket" Voila, you're done for now!
|
Now, one of the mods or admins will see there is a new ticket, and will go read it to see if they can answer it. If not, it will wait for whoever can answer it, if they can, they will! Then you will see a red note next to the New Messages notification on the board that there is a reply to your ticket. Told ya it was super-easy!
I am quite geekily excited about this, I think it will speed up and make more efficient our board tech support. |
The Missing Links
Some, but not all, of the links are now in a drop down menu currently called "The Missing Links"
I realize they display kind of funky on the pro theme, but they still work.
It drops down a bit too much on "Autumn Harvest", "Frosty", & "Chablis" (you can't see them right now). The Gli* theme doesn't have them as a drop down at all.
All the others seem to be in proper working order.
The dropdown contains:

the Crap?! and Other Douchiness |
Punky Moms Save The World |
Dear Douchy Dan,
Whenever we go out, I see kids who seem so well behaved. My kids are loud, obnoxious, and we run out of "happy quiet time" quick! What do I need to do, pre-threaten my kids before we go out to make them sit down and shut up? How do they do it? What The Crap Am I Doing Wrong?
Sincerely,
About to sell my kids to the carnival in the South East.
Dear ATSMKTTCITSE,
Any kid you see that is well behaved has been either threatened with punishment or that kid is a robot. So don't feel bad when you see other kids behaving like normal human beings while your kids are thrashing about like wild animals. I think a good place to start is at the dinner table at home. Make sure before dinner the kids have been able to run around and get some energy out. Then everyone needs to sit down and eat like a normal person. You can tell them they won't get dessert if they're douche bags. Once they have that semi-mastered it's time to work outside of the home. Go on a trip to the mall. Let them know before hand that they have to behave. Tell them exactly what they can and can't do. Give them boundaries. Once they cross that line you give them a warning. A second time you go home immediately. The next time you need to make a mall trip make it a big deal and go without the kids. When they beg to come tell them since they were bad last time they aren't allowed to come this time. But next time you will take them. This should be a good start.
But let me tell you this isn't an easy thing to do. It's a lot of trial and error. Take some of my suggestions and mold it toward your family's needs. If all else fails the traveling carnival idea isn't a bad one. They can travel, meet new people, and learn about different parts of the country. Good luck ATSMKTTCITSE! You'll need it.
Your Douchiness,
Douchy Dan

Oh boy, do we have some civic minded mamas around here!
There are plenty of walks to support this month....

Steph (Stephilis) is walking for March of Dimes. Maggie (Stormy Dawn) is walking for Epilepsy. Amber (DangerDame) is participating in Relay for Life for cancer.
To support any of these, check out their threads in the Punky Moms Save The World forum. |

Advertising
with Punky Moms is now shown on all forum pages. This
is the original
topic posted about how to advertise and this is
the original
topic accouncing our decision to offer it in this
way. For those of you who need information now, read
on!
We have long prided ourselves on not having to shove
advertising down your throats to keep afloat. We kept
it contained to the front end and off the forums.
Well, since we are getting rid of the front end, you
get ads. Hey, at least it will be for stuff you, you
know, use.
If you click on Advertise at the top of the page,
you will first see our disclaimer. It states:

a recommendation by PunkyMoms.com/PunkyMomsForum.com.
We do apologize for cluttering up your board space
with ads, but we feel it's a much better alternative
than hitting you up for donations every so often.
Look at it this way, at least we're not on a free
board with advertising you don't give a shit about
being pushed on you (life for Cafe Mom or craptastic
diet pills!). Ours is for tried and true, useful companies
