Can
You Only See The First Things First Area?
You have been moved back into the "validating"
group because you have been inactive for 30 days or
more. You have not been deleted or banned. Just post
a new intro so we know who you are, and the board
should open to you. Whoohoo!
Every Sunday at midnight our board checks for members
who have not been active for the past 30 days (whereas
I used to do this manually once a month). It isn't
picky. You aren't being targeted (unless you are playing
our RPG). It just is what it is. |
Immature Courture is hosting our contest this month! Look for their fabulous wares soon in our store! Keep reading to find out how to enter!

| Punky Society |
By Lady Sam
February was jumping (leaping!) with Punky get-togethers. Steph (stephilis) got to hang out with Mia (Mia) while on a business trip in St. Louis, Sam (Crazy Raccoon Lady), Maggie (Stormy Dawn) & Crissy (enitsirc) had two days of fun in Maryland, Tricia (Hautemama) brought son Francis to Sarah's (Muse) daughter's birthday party. Dan (Danimal921) and Tammy (insanepsycho51) paid a visit to Jen (Angelic Scars)....presents were involved. The Chicago punkies had a day of debauchery at Chuck E Cheese. These mamas also got together for a fun day at Shedd's Aquarium. Two meetups in a month...not bad! We were treated to an awesome "day in the life" photo essay from Tara (Kibbytap03) & Val (pysonia). For their second get-together in a month, Maggie (StormyDawn) played taxi driver for Sam (Crazy Raccoon Lady) & daughter Savannah who were in DC on a lobbying trip. Finally, the Orlando p-moms said a teary goodbye to Kristen (Nerdguerilla) with a potluck and lots of help packing.
Can't wait to see what March brings! |

|
| Editor's Note |
|
Welcome to March! We have so much to tell
you about! I don't even know where to start. We've got
the IPB back, we've got downloads, an arcade, an RPG, a new
gallery, oh my goodness the list goes on and on and on. It
goes on so much that this entire newsletter is all about it! A
HUGE thank you to our global mods who helped write the
newsletter this month. They did most of the work! I just had
to cobble it together. How's that for teamwork?
Now that everyone has had some time to check out the board,
get used it it or learn it in general, we'll point out some of
the stuff that might be overlooked by the new shine!
Let's start with the new portal! OMG we have one? It's our
new article repository. We tried a Wiki,
but it wasn't happening. I came across MKPortal, which we've
used in the past (way past, like three years ago) and hell if
I know why we ever ditched it. Easy peasy install, tons of
features, it runs off our IPB database (so no secondary
registration or porting). Smack me and call me a dumbass.
Now then, onto the stuff! |
 |
| New Stuff! |
Old Stuff! Stuff to Check Out! |
Chat! The chat
function isn't being used as much as it has in the past. Chat
is a great way to get know other members more personally. Why
not start a chat happy hour at different times in the day? See
you in chat!
Not using it because you can't see people on at the page
top? It only displays at the way bottom with the other stats
(like who is on, whose birthday, etc..)
Market! Have you ever gotten the urge
to steal someone’s plaudits? Have you ever come across a funny
picture that would be perfect for someone else? Do you ever
find yourself wishing you had multiple bank accounts for your
plaudit investing ventures? Do you love to give random gifts?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions then the
Market is the place for you! One of our new features has a lot
in store (gotta love puns!) for everyone!
You are now able to set up multiple bank accounts. You can
buy items to send to your friends. You can steal plaudits, at
a risk, from the rich and screw Robin Hood since you can steal
from the poor too! You can also try a hand at gambling as well
and purchase scratch cards to try your luck. If you want to
fulfill the entrepreneur in you then open up your own shop!
You can even pay a fee to change someone’s avatar, personal
photo and signature. Oh and don’t be shocked when you are
taxed for any of your purchases in the market. Don’t damn us,
damn the man! |
Feedback Have you participated in a
swap and gotten a wonderful swap partner or someone sent you
something out of the blue??? Or have you gotten a not so great
partner and maybe didn't receive your gift? Well the feedback
section is a great place to let everyone know about your
wonderful or not so wonderful swap partner. To leave feedback
click on where it says "Feedback" at the top of the page. Then
look for the link that says "Submit feedback" on the left side
of the page. Enter the member's name and then leave your
feedback.
We've got the gallery
back! First and foremost, Banned, Guests, Validating
and Lurkers can not view or use the Gallery. Who
can see the Gallery? People who are active, posting
members of the board.
Admin and Global Mods can moderate all of the albums,
including any private albums. No user except the creator
and admin/global mods can view private albums. There
is no way to change this, if you are a moderator of
the Gallery you can see all the images. So don't post
your nudies unless you want someone to see them. While
I trust myself, my co-admins, and our globals not
to look at marked private albums, you might not. I
don't care either way, but I want the knowledge out
there and public that those two user groups can view
all, even private, albums. |
Battle! If you haven’t noticed the
new RPG (role-playing game) by now then you are probably dead!
Yes, dead. We have installed a shiny new game where you can
attack the ones you love with the help of guilds or alone. A
RPG is a continuous game where there are no set rules for a
winner or loser so the accomplishments are up to the
individual. You can have fun killing off other people, healing
up those that are wounded, get in character as a member of The
Black Pearl or just have a blast with your guild! Above
everything this is a fun new interactive game to bring the
community together for awesome muderous times! Woo hoo!
No matter if you are feeling sneaky like a Ninja or feeling
a bit of Cabin Fever there is a clan/guild for you! There is
even a new board called Pirate Vs. Ninja Vs. ? where you can
share your accomplishments or ask questions and join in on the
fun. Don't see a guild that you like? No problem! For 100
plaudits you can create your own guild and try to take over
the world!
So go on and click on the Attack Shop button and look
around. Get blood thirsty, put a cap (or Spam!) in some asses
and have a
blast!

| What
the Crap?! and Other Douchiness |
Punky Moms Save The World |
Dear Douchy Dan...
Sometimes when
my kids are at a play date I notice that another child is
visibly sick. The parent even mentions how their child is
sick. Why would a parent bring their sick child around my
healthy kids? What the Crap!?!?!?
Sincerely,
Coming
down with a cold in the North East.
Dear
CDWACITNE,
It sounds like this parent is a douche bag.
Any non-douchy person knows that you don't go on playdates
when your kid is sick. Not only are you putting other kids at
risk of getting sick but you're also preventing your kid from
getting better. Now I know some of my readers might be saying,
"Douchy Dan, what the crap??? Kids get sick, we can't shield
them from the common cold". And I say to you reader, yes, you
are right. We can't expect our kids to never get sick. But we
can expect our friends not to endanger our children with
germs, snot, and the like. So CDWACITNE, my suggestion to you
is to confront that parent. Let them know that you would
prefer your children not to get sick and maybe they should
rest up for a few days. Tell them it's not okay to put their
own social agenda before the health of their child and
children around them. After all, no one wants to be a douche
bag, unless you're Douchy Dan.
Your
Douchiness,
Douchy Dan

Oh boy, do we have some civic minded mamas around here!
There are plenty of walks to support this month....
Deidre (PhotoAdele), Tiffany (Tiffany) and Kristina (Greybaby) are all walking for Multiple Sclerosis. Sam (Crazy Raccoon Lady) is walking for Juvenile Arthritis. Steph (Stephilis) is walking for March of Dimes. Maggie (Stormy Dawn) is walking for Epilepsy. Amber (DangerDame) is participating in Relay for Life for cancer.
To support any of these, check out their threads in the Punky Moms Save The World forum. |

Advertising
with Punky Moms is now shown on all forum pages. This
is the original
topic posted about how to advertise and this is
the original
topic accouncing our decision to offer it in this
way. For those of you who need information now, read
on!
We have long prided ourselves on not having to shove
advertising down your throats to keep afloat. We kept
it contained to the front end and off the forums.
Well, since we are getting rid of the front end, you
get ads. Hey, at least it will be for stuff you, you
know, use.
If you click on Advertise at the top of the page,
you will first see our disclaimer. It states:
Disclaimer

are provided "as is" and PunkyMoms.com/PunkyMomsForum.com
makes no representations or warranties of any kind,
either express or implied.
Inclusion on this site does not necessarily constitute
a recommendation by PunkyMoms.com/PunkyMomsForum.com.
We do apologize for cluttering up your board space
with ads, but we feel it's a much better alternative
than hitting you up for donations every so often.
Look at it this way, at least we're not on a free
board with advertising you don't give a shit about
being pushed on you (life for Cafe Mom or craptastic
diet pills!). Ours is for tried and true, useful companies
